Josephine Mwaniki is the CHRO at AutoXpress Group.

Before joining AutoXpress in January 2025, Josephine served as HR director, people and organisational transformation and change consultant at Thawabu Consulting, advising organisations on HR strategy, culture change and transformation initiatives. Prior to that, she was group executive general manager, human resources at I&M Bank Kenya.

Earlier, Josephine worked as a human resource leader and transformation consultant at Thawabu Consulting LLP, supporting private sector and non-profit organisations through change programmes. During this period, she also served as change lead on the Diageo Transformation Project with Deloitte Consulting.

Josephine spent more than seven years at The Nielsen Company, holding several senior HR leadership roles across Africa. She was HR director East and West Africa, HR director North, East and West Africa and HR director and leader for Africa Operations and Technology. Earlier, she served as human resources director for Sub-Saharan Africa, providing strategic HR leadership across multiple markets.

Her career began at KPMG East Africa, where she spent over eight years as senior manager, people and change, supporting organisational change, talent development and HR advisory services for clients across the region.

Josephine holds an MBA in HR and strategic management from The University of Nairobi, a MA in human resources management from the University of Northampton, CIPD Level 7 certification and the certified human resource professional (CHRP) qualification.
