Nkirote Njiru is the group human capital executive at Old Mutual East Africa, a role she has held since December 2021.

Prior to this appointment, she served as group company secretary and legal counsel at UAP Old Mutual for seven years, where she oversaw governance for 26 legal entities and six trusts across East Africa. 

Earlier, she was the corporation secretary at the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Kenya, a role that also saw her chair the legal committee of the East African Insurance Supervisors Association.

She began her career at the Retirement Benefits Authority, working in legal and board secretariat leadership.

She holds a global executive MBA jointly offered by USIU Africa and Columbia Business School, an LL.M. in commercial law from the University of Cape Town, and an LL.B. from the University of Reading.
