Sylvia Mulomi is the head of people and culture at Stanbic Bank Uganda.
Prior to this appointment, Sylvia served as human capital director at Absa Bank Uganda.
She served as the inaugural chairperson of the HR committee at the Uganda Bankers’ Association.
Earlier, Sylvia was country head of human resources at Standard Chartered Bank Uganda. She was accountable for overall HR leadership and the delivery of human resources services in support of the bank’s strategic objectives.
She previously spent over seven years at Stanbic Bank Uganda in senior HR roles. From 2013 to 2017, she served as senior HR business partner, overseeing the HR function for personal and business banking, which covered three business units, 79 branches and a workforce of approximately 1,300 employees. Prior to that, she worked as HR business partner, supporting the Eastern, Central and Greater Kampala regions.
She began her HR leadership career at CURE Children’s Hospital of Uganda, where she served as human resource manager.
Sylvia holds a master of public administration in human resources development from Islamic University in Uganda. She also earned a bachelor of business administration from Uganda Christian University and a bachelor of bible from Zion Bible College.
