She will lead the organisation’s people and culture strategy across multiple entities, drawing on over 16 years of extensive experience in human resources.
Agnes Mwathi has been appointed head of people & culture at Chloride Exide, effective January 2026.
She will lead the organisation’s people & culture agenda across all parts of the business, working with leaders to create a positive workplace, develop strong managers and shape how the company attracts, develops and supports its people so that both employees and the business thrive.
She previously served as head of people operations at Branch International from November 2023.
Prior to that, Agnes spent over four years at DPO Group, joining in August 2017 as group talent & HR manager and later becoming group head of talent and administration in June 2019. She led talent management and employee development programmes across multiple African markets.
Agnes began her career at Sidian Bank in December 2009 as an HR assistant, progressing to personal assistant to the managing director in December 2011 and then human resources manager in February 2015, managing end-to-end HR operations and supporting organisational growth.
She holds an MBA in strategic management from Daystar University, a higher national diploma in human resources management from IHRM, and a Bachelor’s degree in international business from USIU Africa.
