She joins the bank’s executive leadership team, bringing extensive experience in talent management, organisational development and leadership capability across the financial services sector.
Salome Mukuna has been appointed group head of human resources at Prime Bank Africa. She will collaborate closely with the executive team to enhance the organisation’s people strategy and foster a culture that supports sustainable growth.
Prior to joining Prime Bank, Salome served as head of talent management at Equity Bank, where she led workforce planning, succession management and leadership development initiatives, including the design of competency frameworks and talent mobility programmes.
Earlier, she spent over nine years at Britam in a series of senior roles. These included head of talent and capability and head of human resources for Britam General Insurance. She began her tenure at Britam as HR business partner for the asset management business, establishing HR structures and policies that significantly improved employee retention.
Salome started her career at KPMG Kenya, progressing through roles including HR business advisor and learning and development expert after initially serving in HR administrative positions.
She holds a master of business administration in international business from United States International University – Africa and a Bachelor of business administration in human resource management, from Kenya Methodist University. She also holds a higher diploma in human resource management from the Institute of Human Resource Management and several professional certifications from the AIHR, including credentials in organisation development, talent management and succession planning, and compensation and benefits.
