Paul Rumanda is the head of HR at Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI), a research and training centre under Makerere University

Before joining IDI, Paul was group head of human resources at International Medical Group. In this role, he led HR operations for International Hospital Kampala, International Medical Centres, IMG Pharmaceuticals and International Medical Foundation.

He previously served as head of human resources at Toyota Uganda. Earlier, as human resource Africa distributor at Toyota Tsusho Africa in Johannesburg, Paul supported HR projects across seven African countries, providing guidance on best practice and group strategy implementation.

His career began at X-tel Limited Uganda Telecom, where he rose from customer care agent to manager, establishing the company’s first HR database and system.

Paul holds a master of business administration from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, a postgraduate diploma in human resources from Uganda Management Institute and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Makerere University.

He is also a certified global remuneration professional by WorldatWork.
